AMG makes 5 out of the top 10 most expensive cars to insure
Looks like AMG has crushed another top 10 list but I am not so sure this is one I would like to be at the top of...

Vehicle - List price:
G55 - $125K
DB9 Volante- $201K
911S Cab - $103K
DB9 Coupe - $188K
CL600 - $158K
S65 - $211K
SL63 - $140K
SL65 - $199K
750Li - $88k
750i - $84K
The real bargains are the Volante, S65, and SL65. $200K worth of car insured for close to or less than $88K worth of BMW.
I understand the G55 - it's an off road vehicle and falls into the "may get parked on it's roof" category.
I get the 911 too - they are regularly stolen. By sheer numbers, more Hondas and Toyotas are stolen, but when looked at in terms of "thefts per 1000 vehicles", thieves target 911s.
I don't know BMW theft stats. Any idea why they cost so much to insure?

Doesn't make a lot of sense though why the wrangler was in the 10 cheapest to insure though. They are almost the king of roof-parking.

Wranglers are very cheap to repair and in a worst case scenario (a total loss within a week of delivery), the MSRP is $22K. On top of that, after any amount of depreciation, a $1K deductible is over 5% of the value of the vehicle.
