1996 C36 AMG BUY??????
Hi I seen a 1996 c36 amg for sale on the internet. Its black on black with 162k Miles on it. Its clean title. The guy wants $5k for it. Should I get???? What should I watch out for?

If he will take $4k and everything checks out and it runs and shifts fine, then jump on it.
I got my 97 (best year) for $3600 with 166k miles and its been the best purchase I've ever made. I did a full tune up right when I got it (plugs, oil/filter change, fuel filter, coolant flush, trans fluid/filter change, air filter, etc) I've already put over 10k miles on it as its my daily driver and it hasn't skipped a beat yet! I don't drive it lightly either if you know what I mean haha.

I'd double check all the wiring in the engine bay, just eyeball what you can and see if it is still protected pretty well or if the wrapping has disintegrated and the individual wires/metal is showing. 1996 has the 5 speed I believe, so ask if he's ever changed the fluid and make sure it shifts nicely and all. If it's a Cali car you should be fine, but definitely check for any rust. My lower control arm snapped in half last winter due to rust. Other than that just see if you can get the price down a little bit, and jump on it and enjoy! fyi I paid $5850 in 2009 for my '95 with about 160k on it.
