Wheel and Shifter Knob Repainted (DIY with Pics)

) portions of my steering wheel and shifter knob.Supplies:
- (1) 1fl oz of white acrylic leather paint (Angelus brand, found on eBay for ~$3.50/bottle). I bought 2 bottles of white, 1 of black, thinking of mixing them to color match, but decided to stick with just white for simplicity. Note: I didn't even use a whole 1fl oz bottle
- Masking tape, newspaper (prep material to catch paint drip)
- Leather cleaner (I used Armor All interior cleaner; worked well enough)
- Brush (I used a small foam brush)
- Clean the surfaces to be painted with the cleaner first, followed by a good wipe down with warm water on a clean towel (microfiber works best). Let it dry.
- Do the usual prep work with masking tape, newspaper, etc that'd you usually prep with.
Painting:
- 4 coats is what I used; 5th if you are extra hard on your surfaces would probably work.
- Wait 30-60 minutes between coats; it will be dry to the touch within 10 minutes, but don't slap on another coat just yet
- Ideal temp to paint in: between 40F to 80F. The colder it is, the longer it takes to dry and vice versa (obviously). Don't paint any colder or the paint will crack and whatnot.
- You'll get some air bubbles, but they'll work themselves out (property of acrylic paint), use the brush to help smooth it out if you want.
- Let it stand overnight before you use the pieces.

Yeah I was debating painting, redying, or getting new leather. Having no experience with dying, I didn't want to experiment with my wheel. Getting the wheel reupholstered professionally is costing my friend about $225 for his C43 wheel. Paint is the cheapest option; and it looks as good as my friend's wheel.
