'99 C43 - Another Loss....
I regret to inform my fellow AMG'ers that my silver (silver/black interior w/ sports package....and everything) '99 C43 was totaled last August when I was T-boned. Another loss to the 1,500 in total that I understand originally were built. While I am thrilled to have walked away with only minor scrapes to my left arm (mostly from the air bag), the car is gone. My insurance company did pay me more than I originally put down on it in 2004 (bought it used), and I am still trying to look on the bright side (beyond the fact that the car saved my life): it needed plugs/tune (+/-$650), new summer tires (+/-$800), new winter tires (+/-$800), and body rust (+/-$2,000), and the power seat controls on the driver's side were "weather-dependent". Therefore I am hunting for my next tank and given the fun I had in winter here in the Chicagoland area (NOT), I'm setting my sights on an early 2000's E430 4matic.
