Little trip to the dealership
I made a trip down to the dealership to pick up the front passenger side jack cap (the little cap that goes in the side skirt to cover the jacking point). When I got there they had an E63 in the show room and so I decided to take a look. All I can say is WOW! The E63 is one of the best looking sedans out there not to mention how plush the interior looked.
The sales man came over and started chatting me up. I started asking a bunch of questions related to up and coming models at which point the sales man asked if I would like to take a look at the inventory down stairs. We went down to where they have all of the cars stored and he began to show me all of the AMG models they had on site. We looked at the CLS63, S63, and an E63 sedan. He took me over to a corner where they had an E63 wagon and fired it up for me. The new biturbo's sound AMAZING! I will admit the 6.2 V8 sounds better to me but I did like the sound of the new 63 motor. The E63 wagon is a RARE bird as I have only seen 2 in person, this one is one of the 2 (they are asking $112k for it, had the P30 package, distronic, carbon fiber trim, and a number of other options)

You can see part of the CL63 in the background
P.S. be careful about losing the jack caps. I had to special order it from Germany and it cost $80. They come unpainted so I have to spend another $42 to get it painted, totaling $122 just for the stupid little cap. I have been missing mine since I bought my C43 and after hearing how much it cost I waited until now.

What I normally do is use a spray can and give it 2-3 coats. Than I buy a quart of real good clear coat. I than buy 1-2 spray bottles of prevo and clear coat the small parts. It comes out like factory AND I have plenty material left over for other occasions. The guy that painted that for you for that price must love you.

I must admit I painted the entire upper 1/3rd of my front bumper with cans and clear coat and it came our factory fresh, perfect match and looks 100%. cost about $90 in materials and a full day of prep/painting. there was a LOT of stone chips on there. all gone now ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
good work on the cap, must be nice to finally have it on there!

Can you tell me which type of silver paint and clear you used ?
Did you prime the handles with anything special before painting them ? love how that updates the doors.
