Quick question, how much tranny fluid did you use? I need to flush mine and want to know how much to get?
I believe it's 9 quarts but don't quote me on it. I take mine to a shop as the level is CRITICAL to proper operation...

503, my local tech (albeit, not AMG certified) says it's usually 9-10 quarts, but it would be a good idea to get a couple extra as the process involves 'forcing' the new fluid in and displacing the old. He says they like to pump new fluid in until the have fresh, clean fluid coming out.

Of course, I also plan on getting a new filter and gasket.

This car is a perfect example of what a c43 should have been out of the factory

Great photo's, the car looks fantastic + the 18" monoblocks realy set the car off.

The only mod i would do now would be colour coded door handles, which i had on my 43. They just blend in with the car. IMHO of course !!

Did you lower it to the max?

Now you need colorcoded doorhandles, asap...................

Just received a little parcel this morning with some new wheel bolts, apparently rust-proof too, with 4 locking bolts. I have to protect my 18" Monos from sticky fingers
Included in the parcel some new valve caps (Mercedes OE parts even if they are "Made in China"....)
Enjoy the photos, the first one with the MB codes for those looking for the same caps:

Some comments on the KW suspension:
I have now driven around 1'700 kms since installing the Variant 2 kit and for sure the suspension has settled. I'll be getting an alignment done in the near future, but I can confirm that T Rex has retained good manners, albeit with a much firmer and stiffer suspension.
I measured the distance between the centre of the hub caps and the edge of the fenders. I'm currently running 18" Monos with PS3 (Michelin's new generation tyre).

The measurements found are noted as follows:
Front left: 32.8mm
Front right: 32.8mm
Rear left: 32.6mm
Rear right: 33mm
I conclude that the installation of the adjustable pads with an exact base height measurement was the right way to do it, except for one corner where it is slightly out. In this case and using Popey24's comments, I need to increase the distance by probably max 1mm on the pad to get an equivalent overall hub to fender distance. I will not decrease the front height as I did find some very slight rubbing when taking corners with lock on the steering and going over some bumps.

Driving around with 4 persons in the car, I can hear some very slight rubbing on the rear left on some bumpy surfaces. As this one is slightly lower than the right, I'll dial in a wee bit of extra distance on the adjustable pads to get that side up also to 33mm. That should cure the rubbing and get an equal distance in the suspension height. When doing this, I'll also check where the tyre is rubbing (inner fender liner, front of the rear bumber?) for some peace of mind.

I must also say that over some bumpy surfaces, you feel the shocks working nicely but no jumping of the wheels on rebound. However, you feel it in your stomach, and if you have eaten too much, take a nice drive and your food will be compacted real quick

Can u link where you bought these spacers?
Are they worth having on c43 with stock engine parts?
The only advantage to stock spacers is it the reduced heat in the engine bay, nothing else?

How did it go with your painted valve covers?
Are they still looking fresh?
Paint still intact?
No problems with start ups or anything else after painting these covers?

What's the name of the heat paint used?
For how many degrees celsius do they last and then melt?

Might do this mod painting my covers when the seals begins to leak oil in the futura.

During the weekend I finally managed to get my Goodridge SS pipes on "T Rex" together with a good brake purge single handed thanks to my pressure bleeder. The liquid is surprisingly still nice and clear despite the hard use and brake heat during the summer months. The drilled disks look perfect too. I can't test the result but the pedal feels nice and hard. Snow has been dumped overnight 2 days before spring

Daniel included a photo of the 4 hoses. Here are some more details:

Daniel noted at the time that dealership's prices were good, but I've noticed that M-B prices have risen sharply lately, and AutohausAZ.com currently has prices about 1 third of the Dealership prices for these hoses.

Well the rain has washed away the salt on the roads, so I decided to blow the cobwebs out of "T Rex". After a bit of driving around yesterday, I must say the pedal feel has been transformed Just nice and hard now and when you touch the brakes you see a rapid de-acceleration. Perhaps this feeling is the combination of the SS pipes and EPC Yellowstuff pads...
All I can say to those who haven't done the SS upgrade, get out and do it soon. You won't regret it

Thanks guys for the positive comments. Much appreciate My health is fine too and I just have to be careful with food and drinks: little red meat, no more french fries, a lot of vegetables and fresh fruits and no more alcohol.
Have you checked my project (link at the bottom of my signature)?
