I'm going to try and pick up a 2001 or newer C32.
From what I read on various message boards and what my MB service advisor told me, it's not uncommon for the transmission to go out prematurely on the C43. From what I understand, this is the same transmission found in the SL500.
I'm sure Mercedes Benz is aware of this, and is probably why they paid 50% of the total replacement cost. This is a new transmission, not rebuilt.

I may be interested in selling my C32 when you sell your C43. I am trying to figure out how to get my E55 which is waiting for me at the dealer. That E43 is a beautiful car and I have always loved the V8.
