C43 trade-in value
hey, guys. i am looking at trading in the C43 for convenience's sake. i know i will get less doing this than private sale, but figured if the price was right, i wouldn't mind. what do you all reckon an MB dealership would offer me on a trade? i was thinking somewhere in the $4000 ballpark ...

I doubt they'd offer you more than $2500, unless it's spectacularly low mileage or MY2000

If you're willing to take a low ball trade in offer then just list it at that price.
No doubt a C43 listed @ $4k will be sold instantly.

Its a W202 so the chances are not too much. May be better off selling it on your own if they come back with a low price. Then again it depends on what you are trading in towards and how much the new car price will be. How many miles? Hows the condition of it? If I was to just take a guess a 99 with say around 100,000 miles they may give you say $6,000 on trade in. Chances are they will not put your car on their lot. 99% of them just go to auction anyways.

Thanks for the input, guys. And I did, in fact, forget to include the details about my car... 99 with 107,000 miles. Black with black leather. All records, great condition, no problems.
I am looking at 2009 c63's.

FWIW I bought my 99 C43 2 years ago with 107,000 miles for $6500.

Mine was also a Star car (approved and checked by MB) and apart the CPS dying on me less than a week after purchase and a new cooling expansion tank cap, I have not had one problem to date

Thats a little much...If the car is in tip top shape mechanically and presents itself CLEAN and RUST FREE I think anything in the 6.5k-7k range is a fair price. Again condition and maintenance is the key with the 43!

There is this one in Bay Area Craigslist that's been on the selling block for a long time.
I've test driven it and not the "cream puff" as what the owner claims it to be. I made an
offer due to the current market condition and the car's condition objectively but they didn't want to sell. I think the owners should keep it if their asking price is $14000.
