Who's running Konis and/or H&R Sways

Just curious, as I just ordered the rear Konis, externally adjustable versions, and getting the fronts soon. See them brought up here often, especially with all the searching lately for alternatives to Bilstein, but who on here is actually running them on their 202s?

Also does anyone have the thicker H&R sway bars? Wondering if they're worth it or not

I was running them on my '99 C230 with Vogtland springs but have now sold the vehicle. I really liked the ride quality and the option to adjust it. The softest setting was great for every day driving and the firmest setting was a very noticeable difference. In my opinion it was definitely worth the extra $ to have the adjustment feature. Hope this helps.

Cheers

I believe motorsport3 is running the H&R sway bars and he said the difference was very noticeable.

Yes! h&r sways are good upgrades! My kw v2 didnt feel right untill i put h&r sways. Front is easy to install but the rear needs a lot more work.

You have to drop the whole rear end to install the rear sway bar right?

Aren't the H&R sway bars only 1mm thicker than stock?

Awesome! Definitely helpful. Tell me: did you have to remove the plastic dust covers (sleeves) from your stock shocks and put them on the Konis? Mine just came with the bare rod exposed. I feel like it would probably be okay, but want to put the covers on. The only problem is I can't figure out how to get the covers off the old shocks...

But yeah, I can't wait to get them in and start messing around with the firmness. I'll have to have lots of "test drives" each time I adjust something

Thanks for the input! They seem like pretty good upgrades for the price, and anything in the handling department for these cars can't be bad. lol.

Ouch.... that makes it sound like more trouble than it might be worth...

If you don't mind waiting for them to come in, AJUSA has the best deal by far. But I needed them fast and http://classicgarage.com/ said they had a bunch in stock, so that's where I got the rears. Haven't ordered the fronts yet.

Yes, I did remove them from the stock struts and drilled out bigger holes to fit the Koni's. Gradually increase drill bit sizes until you reach the snug fit for the Koni's. If you drill out too much you are screwed as there is no room for any errors. Keep in mind that Mercedes only sells the dust shields with the struts and will not sell them individually. I just test drove my former C230 tonight as the owner put the stock springs back in but kept the Koni's on. It rides much firmer than a stock C43 at the softest setting.

Cheers

Awesome. Thanks a lot for the help. Another question though, did you trade over the yellow foam bumpstop too?
