Thanks God he doesn't show the vids too as he doesn't want to be killed by the AMG lovers on here. Who want to WOT until rev limiter. Just plain STUPID and immature, showing NO respect to the engine and other mechanical parts. Even in my race years on a track, I never rev limiter any of my cars. Better look at the rev counter and leave a couple of 100 revs before red lining the engine. It will reward you on the long run.
P.S. I think this is my 2'000ths post

But would I do it? No
Is it good for the car? Not at all
Is it going to destroy your engine? Probably not.
If you remember a while back that video of the 2 mb techs in Canada that took out a C63BS for a joyride and the subsequent thread in the W204 AMG section on here, there was a much more heated and in depth discussion about hitting the rev limiter on an AMG.
And congrats on the 2000th post!!

so sorry about your car.
did you report this to your local police station?
in UK you have lots of camera surveillence, do you have it in your area?
I hope you have insurance and insurance company can fix your car?
Good luck finding the SOB who wrecked your car.

[QUOTE=nd4spd13;5282691]I wouldn't be so hard on him... Personally, I haven't seen his videos, so I can't tell how bad he did this/if it was the 4k limiter in neutral or the 6ish limiter in gear, but the limiter is there for a reason. Now obviously if you're sitting on the limiter for a ridiculous amount of time (like, 10 secs or something) it's not good, and cutting the fuel/spark whatever it cuts can't be good, but it's there to protect the engine from being over-revved, and hitting the limiter itself does not damage the engine. If your sitting that high in the revs for a while, yes, but the rev limiter itself is there for protection.

here's one vid it needed a new air maf sensor plug so I had to keep the revs on as i started it..
here's the other

I was a bit hard with my comments. Sorry and I am at a loss to hear what happened. I hope the culprit is found and tortured to his last breath

Thanks for your support guys it helped allot, I fell in love with that car more than any other car I have owned.
I have a MK1 Scirocco Storm, that is having a restoration but I wanted a fun rare road car thats why I bought the Merc, even named it Winston lol..
Here's Leroy the Roc
I have had a lot of Golf GTI's and my last car was a BMW E46 but the Merc was the king daddy, it was rude and I am gutted, my first proper girlfriends dad had one from new, I was 15 when I first went in one and wanted one ever since lol.. its gone now, a polish lad came and picked it up.
I work at Porsche and get to drive Porsche's allot and I have to say I prefer the merc.. apart from the GT3 but that's an out n out race car I will buy another one and post pics once I have it

I love the scirocco. I used to have an 84 gti back in the day that got stolen. I still haven't gotten over that decades later, lol.

Got My New C36
Picked up my new C36 Yesterday guys, Took it for a test drive, was not 100% sure as the passengers seat electrics are not fully working, it moves back and forwards but the head rest and the tilt does not work, also needs 1 new tyre and the wheels could do with a refurb due too lacquer peel.
Other than that everything else is spot on, its done 118k and feels tight, feels alot better than my other one, it also has a wicked sound system.
I payed 2900 for this example, it was up for 3995 but I got him down with my haggle technique
I have a few things I want to do like wheel refurb, replace the headlights and grill for standard genuine parts to freshen up the front and a Gearbox oil change.
I was only third party on my old C36 this time I'm fully comp.
In response to W202mylove
I feel these cars may not feel as sporty as say a BMW M3
People moan about the lack of steering feel, but I think there missing the point, The C36 AMG is not a racing car, it's a super saloon and it moves fast and effortlessness, with great handling, you feel connected to the road with a perfect balance of sport and comfort you don't have the trash the pants of it to get places quickly.
I also feel the quality is better and feel safer cooler and classier lol
So with that in mind I prefer it over an M3 as it feels more grown up sophisticated elegant etc, a true classic in its own right.
She needs a good wash after the 250 mile journey back, will wash tomorrow at work
