Flex Disks: Don't ignore them

Just wanted to post a reminder not to ignore those flex disks. Mine had slight cracking as you could see them mounted but a replacement revealed they were much worse than appeared. Moneyone brought them to my attention and I put it off some, as times were tight. But by looking at them I was lucky no major problems occurred if it went while driving. Just wanted to put this out as a reminder to not let the sleeping flex disk terror cells surprise anyone.

This is what was revealed when taken off.

Yes it was. This was alerted to me after money one put in my E55 transmission. That's all I would had needed was to have one of these go on me. As we can see they may be a lot worse than you think. So if it's showing wear, get on it!

nasty pictures you share buddy.

These flexdisc do they crack on high mileage cars or less?
I know parts break due to age related reasons but sh-t does happen?
Mine only covered less than 64000 miles.
Is there soemthing to worry about for these low miles?

They are a perishable item. I am not sure the longevity on miles vs age, weather conditions Its basically rubber. Next time car is on a lift you can look at them as they are exposed. In my case the top parts that were not visible we're the worst. One you tube vid showed after damage on an E class. It can get ugly. They cost like 50ish. Well worth the preventative maintenance.

Sure can have catastrophic results in case of breakage. Found this thread, but guess they are for extreme usage (drag, racing) etc.

Any symptoms? Harsh downshifting etc....

Mine feel solid on the 43 so im wondering if the AMG models show any symptoms vs a regular benz

Mine was shaking a bit but didn't realize it as I had a bent rim that was causing some shake to.

Simple!
Go the the C36 AMG, C43 (W202) home page https://mbworld.org/forums/c36-amg-c43-amg-w202-47/ and at the top of the list of threads on the left there is a button "New thread"

haters crazy
Interesting. I drag race mine alot and have never had to replace mine.I would definitely be interested in an upgraded flex disc. I launch my car hard... Taking 1.4x 60's and the next round of mods should be even more brutal.

Good to know moneyone is still alive and well
