Driveshaft? If so, a driveshaft shop can rebalance it.

I know, I am unsure what the deal is as the info I got was from a message left on Friday. I was unable to contact them before they closed so I am unsure why the drive shaft would need to be replaced.

I am going to contact them Monday morning to get the full story.

UPDATE:

I should be picking up my car tomorrow. I still have yet to hear what the final diagnosis on my drive line was, the SA I have is a kid and a complete moron . I will be making a complaint (not that it will do anything) when I pick up my car. The kid has had minimal contact with me and doesn't seem to have any answers to my questions but has PLENTY of excuses

Honestly If I pick up my car and the vibration is gone I will be a happy man but I will definitely not be going back to this dealership, or any dealership if I can avoid it

I truly hope this is the end to this saga...

Update:

Just talked with the clown that is my SA and he said "the U joint was bad and needed to be remanned"

Does this sound right? Couldn't they just install a new U joint?

The drive shaft arrived today and will be installed tomorrow...

couldn't you ask for a more experianced technician and not Bozo the clown?
who knows what BS he will tell you?

didn't you replace that U-joint before?

It's the Service Adviser not the technician, I talked with the technician when I asked them to remove the drive line and he seemed knowledgeable but that was the last time I was able to talk with him.

I have pretty much replaced everything BUT the U joints

I HOPE THIS SOLVES THE PROBLEM!!! It has been almost 3 weeks since I dropped my car off, what a JOKE!!!

Doubt it, this is a pretty reputable dealership even though the service is CRAP. I also took a picture of my mileage when I dropped it off. I made sure to let the SA see me snap the pics

I was changing my diff oil last night and starting thinking about your vibration.......have you ever had the diff out? There are adjustment shims under the front mounting bolt which adjust the driveshaft angle. The only times ive ever had to do the measurement and adjustment was on a benz that kept wearing out couplings every year. You use the control arm angle gauge to measure the trans angle, shaft angle and diff angle and then adjust the diff angle if out of spec. Very rarely done, but there are instructions in wis how to do it............just a random thought. Btw i have i vibration in my engine at 1300rpm....... Its solely from the p/s pump yet can feel it in the cabin....doent take much to become noticable.

The diff has never been inspected. I have changed the fluid within the last couple months. I also have a new power steering pump. The vibration feels like it is coming from under the shifter which is what makes me think it is the U joint/drive shaft. The list of culprits is getting smaller and smaller. If it is not the drive shaft the only things left would be torque convertor, transmission, or rear diff. We will find out tomorrow if it was the U joint, fingers crossed

Didn't you say the vibration happens when the vehicle is at a stand still?

Yes there is a slight vibration at standstill but it doesn't feel the same as when it is driving.

I just got the call from the dealership and my car is ready for pick up but I am unable to pick it up today. I have arranged to pick it up tomorrow afternoon and I will post the results as soon as I get home.

WISH ME LUCK!!!

UPDATE:

VIBRATION IS GONE!!!!! Final diagnosis: U joint was bad. I had 2 new front tires installed and I did an oil change, my C43 is smoother than ever. This truly brings a smile to my face as I have lived with this vibration for the last 2 years.

Going without my C43 for 3 weeks truly makes me appreciate what we have. Going from the 2012 GLK 350 to the C43 was night and day difference. My brakes feel SOOOO much more powerful and believe it or not the steering feel on my C43 vs the GLK is a dramatic difference. My C43 steering feels so crisp, much tighter, and offers much more feed back compared to the GLK. The ride was a little rougher than I remember it being but I'm sure that is due to the fact that I have been driving an SUV with balloons for tires for the past 2 weeks. Something else that blew me away was the gas consumption. Our C43's get better gas mileage than the 268 HP GLK 350, whether that is due to aerodynamics, weight, or the 4 matic I'm not sure but the GLK 350 GUZZLES gas.

I hope the information in this thread helps someone in the future but I am glad I can finally put this saga to rest

Thanks for all the feedback

THE END

good stuff. very glad for you

my vibration at 1600rpm went away when i put a new rear flex disc in, however I feel it is back again

I now suspect U-Joint. hmmmmmm is this something a driveshaft shop has to do or is it a mechanic job?

congrats Jason.
I'm happy for you that you fixed your car.

What does this U-joint look like?
Where is it located front - centre or rear on the driveshaft?
Is it normal to cause vibrations, what did shop tell you?

Did they charge you alot for the fix?

God speed without any vibrations.

I would have it done at a shop that specializes in drive shafts.

Bad flex disk

I too had a problem with my C36's flex disks. The rear one failed after less 2 years /16k miles. This was an OEM part but it failed early

I was alerted to it by a severe vibration upon hard acceleration.
Please check yours next time it's on the lift

Thank god I found this post. I'm feeling this horrible jerk the same around 1700-2000rpm when taking my foot off the gas. I thought its the transmisson. I just had it serviced recently. And had the engine mounts replaced too. So you guys are saying its the U-joints? Are those called cv joints? Also you guys recommend changing the center drive shaft bearing? When I did my diff fluid my uncle said it looked changed but, he could be wrong. So I probably should change that too.
