does these gaskets only tend to leak on high mileage cars?
is it unusual for them to leak below 100.000 miles?

mine is only 65000 miles

Valve cover gaskets are one of things besides airmatic that always comes up on MB's period. Looking back on all my other cars, my MB's need that service that most, not sure why. I usually get an indy to do it less than $300 with OES gaskets. Prices vary with area and models though.

i personally am a tech at a mb dealership in south carolina. i can say that i see cars with 112-113 v6-v8 engines always leaking oil from valve covers and the vent chambers on the valve covers. they mostly start to leak from the valve cover vent chamber. and this is very very common. see them starting to leak from 50k miles and on. and will continue lol. i just did both of mine on my C43 with 132,000. doesnt take but about an hour. only cost me about 30$ bc labor is free and parts are discounted
