C43 Noise from then engine, need advise

I have some clicking noises after my car had a new belt and transmission bushings installed.
It appears that I have two noises coming from the engine.
So i took the car to a dealer, the mechanic took the belt off and one noise is gone without the belt, but there is another noise when the car return back to idle from reving the engine. The dealer wanted $600 to open up the engine.
I presumed one noise is related to the belt
Another noise is from the engine internal?

I am thinking about flushing the engine with sea foam.
I just join the MB world, and new to this forum.

On my car there is a pretty common clicking sound that comes from a pump sitting on the frame in the engine bay on the drivers side. You can put your hand on it and feel it pulsing with the sound. Make sure it's not that before you pay big bucks, as I'm pretty sure this is totally normal.

Thanks for a reply.

What kind of pump is that? May be a picture so I can test it also.

Thanks so much for pictures. I do not think it is a pump, more a valve and purge valve?
I will check and test out this unit If I know how.

I poured a bottle of Sea Foam and changed the oil on the weekend and seem to eliminate the noise somewhat. There is still a small tapping noise, i touched the powersteering pump, it could be from that. I plan to change the power steering oil so see what happen. Seem to go away after the car is warm. At least it is not $1,200 bucks for lifters replacements. I am sure lifters are wearing slowly not not too bad yet. I was thinking to pour sea foam in the gas tank to clean up rough idle. what you think.

For information most M112 (V6) and M113 (V8) engines make some tapping noise when idling. They are definitely not silent, so some tappet noise is usual even if it gets a bit annoying sometimes. Guess you have to make a difference between hydraulic lifters making a bit of noise and ongoing taping which would be something more preoccupying...
