1996 C36 Questions

I'm currently thinking about purchasing a 1996 C36 w/ 102,000 miles on it for $7500. First of all is that a good price? Can anyone tell me anything about common problems to look for? I don't want to end up putting alot of money into this car. Any advice would help. I listed the car below that i'm interested in.

ask the seller if he has done the wire harness. it's a common problem for the c36.

If it hasn't been done, what would be the cost if there is a wiring harness issue?

I guess I have no choice but to revive this thread...
I am picking up a 96 C36 (or cosworth, kinda between the two)
The C36 has 6K miles, been in storage for 18 years.
Besides wiring harness, electric gremlins, MAF, and head gaskets....any other surprises to not look forward to?

I would change every single fluid. Where did you find that car at?!?

18 Years! Must be almost new. Any idea why it was put in storage?
I would also check every switch and motor, windows, sunroof etc. Budget for many seals and rubber hoses to be replaced.
Before attempting to start the car (as mentioned above) change all the fluids. I have read but cannot remember a procedure for starting engines that have not been run for a long time. Pretty sure it involved pulling plugs and putting a small amout of oil in each cylinder and turning over (by hand) before trying to start it. Someone else might be able to gvie you the full details or search for this.

I think the wire harness is updated in 96, and with updated AC panel and brakes

but still stick with the leaky head gaskets problem
