Front driver shock damaged on c43
My car bottomed out and I guess the bushing punctured. So, my driver side shock got damged. I had a question if I should order just one new one or both? I heard its better to order two so the car was blanced does it matter?

How new are they? And are these billy sports or the stock billys?

Here's a picture of the driver side's damaged shock. These are bilstein sports. I just put them on recently. I think I didn't tighten the nut tight enough and the bushing came out. I didn't notice at first all I could hear is a clinking noise and couldn't figure out where it was coming from. Then I looked under the hood and the nut and bushing where completely out. I put the bushing back and tightended the nut but it was too late. I think I hit a pot hole or something plus I live in a big city and the roads are crucial at times.

Nasty and expensive damage
and price of two shocks, but if the other is new, probably you can get away with only one. Check the torque on the undamaged one too ![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
Top shock nut needs to be decently tightened but not too much and the counter nut tightened after. Space is limited so a bit of a PITA to do.
