Uber Ugly Noise... C36
hi, So right before I stored my car it started doing the worst noise I've ever heard.
it come from the space in between my radiator and the engine. Some people told me it could be a pulley bearing or something like this or even the water pump... I'll wait till the specialist from the garage check it out, but I thought that maybe someone got the same noise/problem.
*the sound follows the engine rev*
here it is *don't put your speakers to loud*

Sounds like the plastic fan is hitting against something. Most likely the plastic shrouding around the fan if you still have it on? That or maybe something with the fan clutch, those would be my two guesses.

I second the proposition regarding the sound. Check the fan and/or shrouding. I'm certain it's not a disastrous situation

Ill third that.. If nothing is obvious. I'd pull the serpentine belt and turn the accessories by hand while checking for loose bushings and bearings. Namely on the fan and water pump. .02

thanks for your advices, it conforts me a bit !
The guy at the garage suggested me to tow it instead of driving it (I'm not a mechanic, so I prefer not touching it myself)
so in a few weeks when I'll get it out we'll know for sure what's the problem

Everyone thought it was the fan
Oh well, now we'll know to check the tensioner too. Thanks for the update

Guess I have to get my ears cleaned and seeing my age perhaps I need a hearing aid...
