Would the w203 C55 air box fit on our c43's?

I was wondering if it was possible fitting a c55 air box on the c43? I tried to fit my cousins it almost fits. The c55 and the c43 have similar Maf sensors I checked it I took both of them out from both cars. It was the same part number. Has anyone ever tried this? and if so did it make a difference? The intake snorkles are different too those would have to be modified.

It does fit, but you need to adapt the intake pipes. I know it is compatible, because I use the W209 55 engine that uses the same air box of W203. So it should be possible also vice versa.

Someone told me the that the airflow with the C43 air box is better (I think filters are also larger), so I am still using original C43 air box.

It's less an issue of whether it mates to the engine and more an issue of whether it contacts the hood or anything of that nature. Unfortunately, I haven't tried or seen anyone who has tried.

I've tried it. I tried with s 203 and 209 55 and it did not fit. the a/c line on the left of the engine hits the airbox in the back right corner of the box when looking at it. the airbox will not go down all the way. would probably need to modify the airvlbox a bit

I've thought about this a lot lately, they not only used this airbox on c55, but pretty much all newer naturally aspirated v8's on 220's, 209, 211, 171, 463, etc. I would think the newer style flows better but not sure if it clears firewall and other parts.

I picked up a spare c43 airbox also and am in the process of removing all the baffles to do some back to back comparisons, should see some gain from this.
