C43 Trans Rebuild at 90K??

Hey, I'm in the market for a C43, I want one bad. Found what looks like a really clean one in the L.A. area, guy says he has all records/receipts from since he's owned it, but the trans was rebuilt at 90K (with all receipts, etc.)

I know Merc advertised these cars as no service transmissions, and that it is definitely a point to check for, but is this something I should be concerned about?

I've done a lot of light homework on the C43, but obviously still don't know everything, so input would be welcomed.

The C43's had tranny's that were prone to blowing up. Bad needle bearings or something along those lines. I would venture to say the majority of the early model C43's have had transmissions replaced/rebuilt. That "no service" line is a load of $h1t, if you do buy it make sure to change the tranny fluid every 40,000 miles or less. The transmission is pretty much the only downfall to the C43, if it has been replaced and the car has been maintained you should feel confident in the reliability. The M113 motor is good for 250,000+ miles if maintained properly.

The youngest C43 is now 13 years old. At this point, I'd hesitate to buy one that hasn't had a tranny rebuild. Like 503 said, MB was completely full of **** with that "no service" transmission crap. As a result, they all should have had a transmission rebuild by 150k.

Mine was rebuilt exactly at 90k and my car has 137k on it now...Change the fluid out once already...runs flawlessly!

Hey Jason, awesome, I'm trying to get ahold of a guy in Seattle who has one for sale now. These cars are so damned hard to find, and want one like I've never wanted any car before in my life.

Thanks for all the comments guys, I really appreciate your input/feedback.
