koni fitting instructions?

i'm in need for some professional fitting info from any of you.
i left my car at the mechanic for vogtland/koni upgrade.
i have the twintubes
K-8041-1315SPORT
K-8041-1316SPORT

in the koni box, the fitting instruction manual says:

first time out of the box shock adjustment, each koni shock needs to be put in a vise, then push in the valve rod and turn clockwise for each settings stiff level.
did you do this procedure with the vise before putting them koni's on your car or did you put your shox on your car and adjust the stiffness when fitted to your vehicle?

i'm getting confused as koni website says adjustment is done directly on the car with these shox, and my box gives different instruction for adjustment?

i dunno which one of these fitting procedures is correct?

i appreciate your feedback

eclectic assortment of cars
Probably you need to adjust with the shock off the car. I know that some Konis you can adjust on the car, some you cannot. I would go with what the box says - they are probably more accurate. Or double check the instructions that came with the Konis reference your particular shock part numbers.

twintubes which I have are adjusted when fitted on car according to koni support.
I don't get it why koni puts an instruction in the box where the shock has to be put in a vise and then being adjusted first time off the car?
then shox has to be fitted on the car and then you do your own custom settings?
what is correct fitting procedure on 8041 shox?
using a vise or NOT for first time adjustment?

check this link and scroll to the bottom instruction picture shock version 8041
http://www.koni.com/car-racing/technology/adjustment/

check koni finder, enter MB w202 C43 AMG and click on INFO field tabs
http://www.koni.com/car-racing/finder/
Info says: Externally adjustable by means of a knob or pin without removing the shock absorbers from the car.

You do not need to do any adjustment to the shock when it is off the car. I remember my instructions were pretty vague too, and seemed to reference the monotubes more than the twins. Just switch the dust covers, bolt em in, and get driving and adjusting

@ nd4spd13 what a relief, thanks for your help.

dumb fokk Koni's why do they have to make it so complicated with instructions?
each type shock version should have their own spedcific instructions fitted in the box, instead they gave an generic instruction and confusing people!

Have you tried contacting the koni factory directly? Probably your best bet.

i contacted koni support, a swedish distributor said I should fit them on my car and don't do anything else beside adjusting the knob after personal preference.

does all new gas shox taken out of the packaging needede to be fully compressed to the bottom shock body to spread out the oil/gas content inside the body?

I used these on my Porsches at the track
Push down the shock all the way turn clockwise for stiffer rebound car sits flat but rattles your teeth.
1 level up has external adjusters.
Not sure it those are what you have ?

koni was correct about first time use before fitting them onto the car.
their manual said put the shock in a vise and turn clockwise.
all koni shocks needs to be compressed and turn clockwise, oil inside needs to move around inside shockbody
