Yes, one at each end of the driveshaft. If one of them has failed, then there's a very high probability that the other one is close to failure as well. They are rubber, and have a limited life span. Replace them both!

Ahh yessir, the weather was fair today and I had a chance to get under the AMG and inspect things and yes BOTH flex disc are bad with the rear being worst!!!!

Pics:
Front not so bad

Rear is terrible explains the squeaking noise as the deformed flex disc is rubbing the chassis.

Flex disc is on order.
Anyone know where I can get a fair deal on the right tires on this car?
Leaning mostly on the performance side since this is not my daily driver.
Any recommendations on any setups that you have used for street and maybe a few track days in the summer?

I'm going with Vogtlands over yellow konis which seems a popular choice. Springs got here today, didn't pop the box yet, picked them up on ebay for less than 250 shipped. I posted a link on another thread for the shocks, 508 shipped. My car came with Continentals, but you might think about a lighter tire. I heard toyos are light.

Btw. Nice car!

Thanks man, I have been looking on pelican parts at springs and shocks. I will compare prices with ebay, I do like Konis though, had some on a 91 Civic hatch with a 1.9L built LS/Vtec engine I used to race occasionally rode real nice on the street I had RSR springs on it though.

I am thinking of picking up some chrome 18 inch Monoblock wheels I found near me for a decent price. What do you guys think? I have 17's now.
Here are the 18's

I did almost all the engine stuff. If you want to do the basic stuff. Change the oil and the transmission fluid. Then check the rear differntail and maybe change the oil. Here's couple of websites I use, www.pelicanparts.com autohausz.com partsgeek.com

Thanks man, Im actually a mechanic and just moved to a new shop that works on alot of European cars so I can learn more about all Mercedes and all makes and models. I can do most of the maintaince stuff myself and hopefully learn the rest as I go along. Not to men!tion discounted parts prices thank GOD.

What engine stuff did you do?

Damn... that car is mint!

I'm not a fan on chrome wheels but these would look good I think. Pretty close to the monoblock II. They'll show your calipers a bit more and might provide better cooling if that is any important for your use

Red!! There are so many black 202s, and so few red ones, you'd be an idiot to give up the red

Like most if not all automatics, it is impossible to start the engine if in gear except in N or P.

The tensioner is awesome getting the fan shroud out is a pain but not too hard. 15mm on the tensioner.
Get the fan out first is easier, I cutt the old belt off. 5 or 5.5 Allen for the fan bolts I think

You shouldn't need to pull the fan to get to the belt tensioner, just rotate the fan till there is a gap in the blades. I didn't even had to pull the fan to swap out the belt. It's a bit of a pain to get it on the crank pulley that way, but it was better than removing the fan, lol. I love the red on the C36 by the way, definitely one of the better colors on these cars.

Yea that gap is tiny, I got it loose via the tensioner but couldn't get it off the last pully because of the small gap ... haha thats why I cut he old belt off and called it a night. Fan is still on tomorrow after work I'm putting the new belt on. Thanks for the feedback
