Cam sensor is located between the thermostat housing and head towards front of engine. The IAT is built into the mass air flow sensor.

What's saying its bad? Obd2 code. As far as a miss on 5 and 2 you most likely have a bad coil my friend. The stock (square top) coils on our cars get too hot under the coil cover and the plastic cracks and lets the spark out. Almost every high mileage m104 I've seen has done it. Pop that sucker off cylinder 2 and look down the side.

Not exactly sure why your coil didn't work with your wiring. Where did you get that coil from? Should pop right in if you have the correct coil. As far as your obd code I can't help you by playing the internet guess game. You need to interface with the controller and look at the live scanner data. See what the controller is seeing. One quick check you can do before is to have a really close look at your wiring in the engine bay. Check all your grounding points and check where the wiring harness connects into the controller. Look for any corrosion on the pins or connector and also make sure all pins are seated in the connector. A member a while back fought a horrible problem of a misfire at a certain rpm. After months of headache and spending money on parts. His mechanic found that the wiring harness had got pulled on somehow and some of the pins inside the connector where not making contact even though they were clean.
