Spoke with a man yesterday in a parking lot, he was driving a 1959 220SE 2door Cabriolet. Black with tan top, just gorgeous, wish I had taken a photo. Mercedes has such a history of great cars.

Saw an old middle eastern couple driving a MINT 65 220SE convertible a few years back. They let me snap a photo. It was gorgeous.

Glad to see you appreciate classic Mercedes..The 220 (Ponton) series ended in 1959. The 300 series was replaced with new chassis in 1957. The 300's from the 1950' were basically hand built, the equal of Rolls. I was privileged to buy a new 1972 280SE 4.5 It was dark green with tan interior. Cost about $11000. Was truly a great car for the times. No other car manufacturer today has the history of Mercedes. We can be thankful for what we have today.
