either oil, power steering or a/c compressor leak????

any common issues with either oil, power steering fluid or a/c compressor leaking oil? i am still trying to narrow down where the leak is coming from and was wondering if any others had any common issues as mines. so far i am looking at either the power steering pump seal, or the a/c compressor leaking oil. any help from others who might have experienced something similar would be appreciated. my car is a 1998 C43. TIA

where is the oil building up? Is it on the engine or elsewhere? I believe my valve cover gaskets might be leaking because I have oil build up on the front half of the covers. I have cleaned it if several times and it keeps coming back. But the oil level is not going down at all.

power steering fluid... i was leaking on one of them...and when u turn the steering wheel...it creates a grinding noise.. it was not properly installed when it was replaced the first time...

oil was leaking at the camshaft advance unit and oil level sending unit... boy was it expensive to replace...

hi all, yeah the build up seems to be right behind the power steering pump, however, since my poly belt got wet from the fluid, it kinds splattered all over the front cover and any parts that the belt connects to. i already once cleaded up all the fluid and replaced the power steering resivoir seal thinking it was coming from there, but maybe i need to rebuild my power steering pump cause i think thats where most of the build up is. man this sucks.

think the sealants, units, and the other parts were under 200... but i have no idea how to fix that... and as we all know, an mb dealer is really expensive... labor took up the majority of the bill...

Thanks for your info, i am gonna see how much a rebuilt P/S pump will run me, i see they have a reseal kit that comes with all the o-rings, however, it moght just be easier to pay for a new unit instead on rebuilding myself. if i do fix it, i will let you guys know what it was. thanks again all.

just wanted to let u know this was probably due more to lack of driving than anything... our gas tank sensors have been replaced twice... once under warranty...and one outside...

Yeah perhaps, i mostly drive my car on the weekends. i decided that before i fork over $487 for a new P/S pump that i go and change out all the seals first. the new o-rings only costed me less than $15 altogether. because i already replaced the o-ring that goes on the resevoir tank, all i have to do now is change out the one for the high pressure line and wait see what happens.
