C36 with 4 and 5 speed. How do they compare?

C36 with 4 and 5 speed. How do they compare?
Can anyone tell me more about the C36 with 4 and 5 spped automatic and how these two version scompare in the objective performance and subjective driving feeling? Thanks.

i have a suspicion the 5sp c36 slots in between the 4sp c36 and the c43 performance wise... the 8 extra hp and newer faster computer system on the 97 5sp c36 is definitely work getting. the 4 sp gets a bit tiring and droning on cruise speeds on the highway... if u get on the throttle on and off and on really gently... sounds like my father snoring...anyway... i'm sure the 5sp isn't as droning...supposed to be overdrive i think...at the least...rpm would be lower. always felt our c36 lacked a gear...

i've driven both
personally i like the nice noise at highway speed
and felt like the power was instantly there, in the case of the 5 sp took a little longer to feel the rush when pressed at highway speed, which is understandable since it was running at a few lower rpm's
either way, lower speeds change gears manually it's a lot more fun in spirited driving, and more responsive than leaving it in D
