Instrument cluster
When turning on or off my 1998 c43 the needles in my cluster vibrate for like five seconds very weird. Anyone know what might be causing this

Internal problem with cluster. I see this alot. My ML does it also. Doesn't cause any issues though so I would not worry about it. Cluster would have to come coded from a dealer so I doubt that's something you want to pony up for.

Also I remember that happened to me, little vibrate in fuel & tmp. needles,
i unplugged the main 2 cluster connectors, clean them with contact cleaner & return them back, vibration not shows again,,
not sure if you have the same issue..!

Pay attention...
I suggest to check the inside of your ic. I had some carbonization on the back of the cluster card causing creeping current.
It started long time ago with a oscillation of the speed indicator around 160 km/h.
Later I had some illuminating issues on the dashboard and in the cluster.
Finally I had very strange effects like wrong values, total freezing of all IC values or dance and light show in the IC.
I cleaned the board with with a toothbrush and grinding paste.
Now it works well so far but my engine temperature is freezed to 50°C. But when I read the engine temperature in the climate control unit, it is fine and knowing the CCU receives the temperatur from the IC, I suppose my little daughter or my son was playing with the IC indicators and damaged the stepper motor. So if you have some children around, pay some extra attention...
