In the end I'm guessing it comes down to deciding between the following:
A) super low mileage long term owner unmodified car (stock)
Vs
B) medium mileage medium term owner modified car (tune, brakes, wheels, exhaust, maybe more)
They both have the pros & cons and I am guessing they end up being about the same price.

transfer of funds complete. bought a black 1999 c43 AMG with 42,000 miles. many thanks to seller (who I hope will visit SF and go for a drive) and thanks to MB World for providing the forum and the lead. Pix and VIN after delivery. Using Angels transport from MB World vendor section to haul it to me enclosed.

happy to hear you snagged a good gem! I look forward to hearing about your happy ownership. What do you plan on doing with the car? Modifications or stock? Daily drive or garage queen?
I'm also very happy to hear that people out there are starting to pay attention to the w202 AMG. Hopefully this will trigger a stabilization of the failing market for these cars. I found what has to be the only 2 C43's in TN going for PENNIES because they were undervalued, case in point: https://mbworld.org/forums/c36-amg-c...90k-miles.html

Not having much luck so putting a reminder up here in the place where c43 owners might get a useful reminder that I am looking for a black c43 somewhere near California (if possible). Pls pm me with leads...and thank you. That white car on ebay for$18k doesn't scare me price wise...

I'm really leaning toward a stock car.
18 inch wheel upgrade would be great. Mild mods, maybe. I'd be very unlikely to buy a car with a motor swap.
