OBX Headers fitting

did you dyno your car before or plan to after these?
they dont look like true headers in the traditional sense, they look more like a glorified exhaust manifold, not being negative, just thats what i thought from looking at them.
is the difference mostly the larger diameter tube that they all run into? or how much longer are the individual tubes that come from the cylinders than stock manifold?

agreed, those are really just manifolds, and i would question if there is even any gain from stock manifolds. Those cheap manifold replecements really dont seem worth the time or money. There is a set of kleemann headers for sale right now on this forum. They arent the best header ever that is for sure, but it is at least worth doing.
the reason the kleemann give good gain is because they delete the front cats this makes for less back pressure.
the manifold I fitted are a bigger bore than stock but I still have my front cats so no real gain just more space for the gases to go into

would be nice to have it dyno tested to prove if there are any benefits to doing it other than cosmetic, from the looks of them i dont think there is much if any performance gain... to most C43 drivers i think it would end up being a bit too much work for only slight cosmetic gain... but then again all the people interested in the caliper swaps on our thread dont seem to have any problem with that.

would have been nice if you showed some pictures or measured the outflow dimension. clearly, they are worth it if you are happy with them, but they looks suspiciously like the oem headers which aren't great.

My apologies for hatching a very old thread but, did you fit the OBX headers on the 4.2 or 5.4? I'm curious as to why the W208 CLK430 headers don't clear the 5.4 cylinder heads and cannot be installed. Anyone have any suggestions? Thx

didnt realize that the w208 headers wouldnt fit a 5.4... are you sure they are for w208?

I have just checked in the EPC for the w202 c43, w208 clk55 and w210 e55. All three models share the same manifold part #

The 4.3 and 5.4 are the same motor on the outside, any exhaust will fit each motor exactly the same. I'm guessing they're trying to wiggle out of a warranty issue by feeding you bs.

I'm betting that they're W209 as well!
I've sent three detailed emails since Sunday to OBX explaining the issue and so far, I've gotten no response. It clearly states on their website that a representative will respond within 24 hrs. This is not my fault and I'm hopeful that they cover all return shipping costs. I'm getting pressed for time as I'm planning to drop the motor in soon. I'm a little disappointed!

It appears that the contact phone# listed for OBX Racing now belongs to an entirely different company. A Google search turned up several customer service complaints with the BBB. Most state that they were unsuccessful at contacting anyone within the company. Claims were also made that it took months to finally get a response. Definitely sounds like their an unreliable fly by night company with zero customer service. I'm not holding my breath at getting a response to my several emails. I'm open to any and all suggestions as to how I can get in contact with them.

im a little confused, did you purchase directly from obx? if so, how long ago? is it possible to contact your credit card company and see if they offer buyer protection or otherwise submit a claim for fraud?
obx does have a webpage with an email and a fax number, you could try contacting them directly first. i would probably send a certified letter with tracking advising them of the issue, but you may get more traction with your bank.
honestly, i didnt think you could purchase directly from obx. your alternative is contacting one of their resellers and seeing if they might help you out.
sorry to add this later but did they come in a box with a part number stamped anywhere?
