Amplifier problems when it rains
I've gone through a couple of original bose amp's already, and lately the last 2 have shorted out after a heavy rain (no sound, but head unit still works, with some popping/crackling in the speakers for a short time). I have an alpine x305 head unit.
I'm wondering what my options are. Can I re-route the wiring to cut out the old amp and run the sound through the head unit? Any thoughts will help. Thanks.

I suggest looking for the source of the problem. Is there a leak?
When I'm faced with complicated problems I look for the simplest-cheapest solution 1st.
For example: if the problem is a leak, fix the leak and/or cover the top of the amp.
As for re-routing the speakers to the HU. I don't think it is possible (someone should chime in) Bose speakers are low impendence and most aftermarket HU support 2,4,.... ohms.
Good luck

As Solo wing recommends, check for water ingress first before going overboard with other stuff.
