Thanks that seems more believable, I spent 3 hours last night trying to work out how you ended up so high and why I could not get factory axle angles to line up
WIS has specs for what the axles levels should be within, these are
C43 Front +1.3(-1.4/+0.7)
C43 Rear +0.4(forgot tolerance will enter later)
CLK55 Front +1.3(-1.4/+0.7)
CLK55 Rear -0.2 (-1.1/+0.6)
If I jack the car to CLK55 spec I get:
352mm @ +1.3 front ,which seems too high.
343.5mm @ -0.2 rear , Which is your euro C43 height w/#1 pads.
However, If I take the front to the higher camber limit/lowest level I get:
343mm @ -0.1(+1.3-1.4) then I get exactly 343mm front which is same as your Euro C43 w/#1 pads ..
So to keep within factory front camber/caster it is necessary to run the camber bolts up front with anything lower than the euro C43 with #1 pads, but even with these bolts it will only make the drop some 5-7mm more and would mean maybe #3+ pads up front unless you run aftermarket adjusters etc.. but to be really exact/conclusive I need to tighten everything up and have an alignment done.

Small update - the CLK55 euro springs with #1 pads settled to around 324mm front and rear, I ended up installing #2 pads for ~330mm. however I have since reduced weight in the car centre-rear so it sits around 336 rear 330, thus thinking of going back to #1 in rear.
After 4 years since installation of the KW Variant 2 suspension, my heights are 328 front and rear. The suspension rubs a wee bit on the front when turning over small ridges and has a slight rub on the rear over bumps with 2 adults. Lowering more is not recommended with 18" Monos. Perhaps with 17" you could dial in a bit lower. Ideally I think 330mm would be the solution and would eliminate practically all the rubbing issues.
DRB,
Agreed 330 is best compromise, With factory camber bolts make for ~1.2 degrees front which is high side of the factory window,it also should leave enough for safe shock travel on stock C43 shocks.
I have no rub in front with 18x8.2 225/40 et35 however since I installed rear camber arms and corrected to 1.3 with 18x9.2 255/35 et35 Michelin PSS's(slightly chunkier sides than average) it just touches slightly on the C36 rear bumper over bumps,I think I will adjust the bumper or dial in 1.4 rear.

Euro CLK55(sits lower than NA CLK55) Front Springs A210 321 32 04Common with Euro E55 98 - 00 Rear Springs A208 324 02 04 Only found on Euro CLK55 Front shocks A202 323 41 00 Common with Euro C43 and NA C43 Rear shocks A202 326 30 00 Common with Euro C43 and NA C43
Has anybody ran Euro CLK55 springs in there C43 and found them to be lower than Euro C43?
First, so glad I found this thread. I have a NA C43 that I just put the euro parts on for springs/pads (#1 pads/5mm front/rear). The rear sits too high, and I want to try the euro CLK55 springs, part number 2083240204 as listed above.
The problem I'm having, is I can't find them ANYWHERE online. Can someone from across the pond take a look, see how much you an get them for, if they're still available?
My C43 with stock euro setup/#1 sat much higher in the rear also. From the comments I read most people end up getting the springs through a dealership as they are very uncommon part!
If you have not done so already, undo all suspension bushes and re-tighten while vehicle is on ground, this can account for a large variance is ride height and spring rate imbalance. I see this is seldom done due to the time required to do all bushes,it will settle over a long time as the bushes give in to the twist and is some times mistaken for spring compression/slump. The bushes may have less life also.
I just had a bunch of bushings replaced, but yeah, still too high in the rear. I may have one of you fine gents see if you can get the springs for me and ship to me.
From what I've seen, H&R is too low for what I want, and I'd rather stay factory if possible for alignment specs, etc. I can live with the Euro springs for now, it's better than it was before, but if I could get the Euro CLK springs, that would be awesome.
I saw that price on eBay, that's crazy! But I found another German Mercedes parts site that listed the part for the correct/better price, but they don't ship to the US.
I just checked with my local supplier, landed from Germany would cost me $448NZD, that's around $295USD, if I was to ship NZ to US it would likely cost approx $80 - 100USD for that weight.
Zayed is right though you should be able to get from Germany no problem!, have you tried pelican parts?, they will order from germany.
I'll see if Pelican or ECS can source it, doubtful though. Pagz, thanks for checking, I'll live with the Euro C43 setup for a while, not ready to pay $300 for two springs, haha. Thanks for all the sources guys.
Here's something interesting. I found a similar part # to the euro only part #. The part number I found is 2083240104 , which is one digit off from the Euro part # 2083240204, but correlates to what looks like the US CLK55, but is still different from the E55 euro C43 part number.
Is anyone able to look up this part number and see what the spec difference is to the US part #?
I'll see if Pelican source it, doubtful though. Pagz, thanks for checking, I'll live with the Euro C43 setup for a while, not ready to pay $300 for two springs, haha. Thanks for all the sources guys.
