Low Mileage 5.4 For A Steal!

good luck converting your car into a c55, don't fogget pictures when you do the job
don't fogget to check the harmonic balancer, oil cooler gaskets
low mileage shouldn't have any wear on this engine

Not all are low mileage but I couldn't believe what I was able to get this one for! There are quite a few with high mileage going for a lot more than what I paid. Finding a 64K mile engine for $1650 USD was fortunate enough and it so happens to be only fifteen minutes away. Very lucky indeed! There is a few on eBay with 150K-200K miles that are going for $2500 and $2000 USD plus $500 shipping that don't include the entire engine with all of the accessories. The engine I purchased is getting removed tomorrow as it is still in the car. They just received the car as it was written off due to receiving minor rear end damage.
this one would have been great for my car as she has only covered 108000km's
lowest mileage for a donor engine i found is 156000km, this won't match my cluster mileage
i hope everything works out great for you

This morning I get a phone call from the seller and he tells me that the motor is located in Canada. He explained to me that he listed it on eBay.com as it was more likely to attract a US buyer. He listed the item location in Blaine, WA as that is where he would ship the motor from. I then told him that I'm also in Canada and listed my location as Blaine, WA as I have all my online purchases shipped there in order to avoid duty and brokerage fees. Finally luck is on my side as I just avoided duty and taxes. He then tells me that he will state my location as my Blaine, WA address so I can avoid Canadian purchase taxes as well. He then tells me that he made a typo in the eBay listing as it is a 2002 E55 motor, not a 2001. I'm assuming that the engines are the exact same. I know that the transmissions are different but, are there any other significant differences between the two model years?

if you got an 2002 engine, that's even better for you, now you have the last year engine with last updated parts for year 2002
maybe some internal parts were tweaked for the better
if you change your mind about this engine you can give it to me, i'll take it for free

Found a really clean 2001 CLK55 that's been crashed in the front in my town. Been sitting for 6 months, not fixed. needs bumper, grille, hood, radiator, radiator support, etc. fenders and headlights were fine though.
anyway, it's got 208k miles on it and is in GREAT shape, but I noticed a small hole was poked into one of the valve covers. the guy went to great lengths to assure me the car was not run with that hole there, but he didn't even know the hole was there until I pointed it out.
I'd be happy to buy a high-miles, well-maintained 5.4l, but I'm worried there's a piece of that valve cover down in the timing chain valley! I'm wondering if I can talk him out of it really really cheap and just disassemble the front of the engine. Worst case scenario I have to replace the gears and chain? I'm not sure...
