would it help reducing hot air if we wrap the underside on stock airbox with heat resistant foil?

May help a little but still won't be as efficient as the air box setups on the compressor motors

I'm not sure the air moves through there slowly enough to really be impacted by the engine heat. There's a pretty significant vacuum when these motors are revved and it's pulling air from the front grille. Sure, it's not a cold air intake, but I'm curious just how much it actually heats up along its path. Sounds like a good experiment for a slow weekend

Best way to find out is to install a heat sensor close to the throttle body before the air is sucked in the intake. Monitor heat variation when driving then install heat insulation under the box to reduce heat sink and monitor new heat variations when driving. That should explain plenty of things with the pros and cons once and for all.

Should just be able to use the stock intake air temperature sensor and read on an OBD2 reader. I can add that to my list of things to do one day, haha. You'd need external air temperature to be the same.
