Unfriendly W202 owners
Obviously this is not a blanket statement, but It seems like alot of C36/C43 owners are either oblivious to what they're driving or are not so nice people, at least in my area. I have given thumbs up and what not, no love what so ever. there is a chance they haven't seen me, but I was in my 43, so you would think they would at least take notice. I will continue to show love to anyone I see just cause I feel like we have such rare cars. Just wondering if you all have had similar or different stories?

Every time that I have seen or run into another W202 AMG, I haven't been in the C43. I parked next to a black C63 at Lowes one time and we both got out at the same time. I said something to the effect of, 'Cool to see direct descendents next to each other' or something like that and he just looked annoyed that I had parked next to him.
Unfortunately, knowledge of the brand history of a car is not a prerequisite to buy one, so there are a lot of AMG owners who don't really know much about AMG or even their specific model. I've seen stock W210 E55's advertised as supercharged by their owners. Others may just be zoned out and not paying attention. I usually have a minor freak out session if I see another 202 AMG, so they may also be fearing for their lives

In the years I have owned my 43, I probably crossed the path of 2 or 3 other 43's. Guess they are rare birds. I did see a 36 parked in Locarno with the owner inside. We had a nice chat in sign language even if he didn't speak either French, Italian or English...

Closest I've come is a guy at a friend's wedding. He was a cop and car guy, liked European cars. He chatted me up, "saw you pull up in that C43 out front? Damn, man, that's a very rare and cool car!"
Is it strange how proud that made me feel? And he was a BMW guy!

in europe it's more the opposite, people tend to look down on me when i drive my 17 years old car, what's wrong with people?

The US, in many ways, is still a "car culture!" Everyone needs a car, so everyone has a car. Cars are a part of life! So you end up with many people who just love cars.
