1995 Mercedes-Benz C36 AMG
1995 C36 AMG For Sale
Hey Guys,
I'm selling a C36 AMG, It has never been in an accident, it runs well, the A/C is freezing cold, the interior is in great condition, and it's got a brand new set of tires on it. The car is and has been a California car its entire life, it is rust free, currently located in San Diego, ready to ship anywhere.
But it comes with a bit of baggage. From the carfax (which I will gladly share with anyone interested), it appears that the odometer was rolled back, so it's not quite apparent what the true mileage is on the car. The last read was at 244k miles, and the next read was 140k, and is currently sitting at 148K. There is also a small oil leak in the head Gasket, and leaking transmission gaskets, which is common with these cars at this point in their lives.
The car was repainted, and looks ok overall. This is a good driving car, and is all original. I don't need to stress the rarity of this car, and I would love to pass it along to someone who will love it, and keep the car on the road for years to come, it deserves to be preserved, and undoubtedly will be a must have to any AMG collection down the road. I have some pictures of the car below, I will share any additional info with anyone interested. If you would like to inquire, send me an email, or if you have any suggestions on the best way to pass the car along to someone new, please feel free to share. I appreciate all feedback! All offers welcome!

Only way to roll back miles on a 90's MB is to replace the instrument cluster.
Those figures are suspicious. What's the amount of time between the 3 readings? Could be someone punching in the wrong key...

As per the Carfax:
6/23/1995 - 13 Miles
8/27/2001 - 130,860
10/23/2003 - 170,536
6/22/2005 - 190,290
7/18/2007 216,233
4/7/2011 - 244,902
3/10/2015 - 140,823
Seems like it was tracked up to 244 pretty clearly. Not sure what's happening here. Any insight?
There are no accidents reported whatsoever on the carfax. and it was a 1 owner car for most of its life, the last owner had it for just 4 months.

I don't know if there's a way to have it adjusted up at the dealer or not. Could you give them a call and ask? I'm sure there's no law against adjusting mileage UP (instead of down)

Could be one of the screens burnt out on the instrument cluster, so previous owner replaced it with a used one that had donor car's mileage still on it. You can swap the gauge faces with the AMG face easy enough.

I can ask, my only concern there is that the Carfax would then read from going to 0-244, then down to 140, then back up to 244. It would just make it seem like I put another 100k miles on it since it was dropped down to 140, which is not the case.
How would that help me sell it?
I'm thinking at this point the car is probably worth parting out instead of selling as a whole.
