cheers all.
Im sure some if not most know all this but please bear with us whom don't.

on my 98 c43...
1. I know the traction control disable only disallows a rear brake from stopping its spinning tire? 1= agreed?

2. My traction triangle blinks to indicate there is a rear wheel spinning much faster than the other...it blinks only a bit when the traction control is enabled, and, will stay lit when traction control is disabled. It blinks when spinning a wheel then goes solid on again. 2 = this is normal, agreed

3. I recently had both my ABS and BAS ESB idiot lights come on after exiting a slippery corner. Was not mashing the gas, promise. The traction control now does nothing...not even light up the traction control triangle.
3= whats broken??

4. with the abs idiot light on solid I still think i have ABS as i cant really slide the car on abrupt stops. I have not tried to J turn the car into a over slide....4= any ideas how to test abs?

Thanks in advance

Check if your cruise control is working? A lot of times when the brake switch breaks, the BAS/ESP lights up and that the cruise control will not work. That is a symptom of the brake switch malfunctioning. It happened to me once and I replaced the brake switch and that fixed my BAS/ESP.
