These airboxes are the real deal. I don't have performance numbers, but you can really feel the difference. Matches the factory finish perfectly & is pretty unassuming if you don't know what you're looking for. No fitment issues. Butt dyno says there are noticeable performance increases. Plus, there is a bit more noise coming out of the engine bay from this box & it sounds good

is it a good noise airbox's giving from engine room like a V8 rumble?

i've heard from those who did the 55 swap, they get a lion roar from exhaust fitting the larger displacement 5.4L engine?
is this true?
nothing beats cubic inches

Out of curiosity wouldn't a dual pipe design instead of a box help you achieve a higher power output? I've been looking for an intake system to purchase but it's hard to decide since no one really provides before and after dyno numbers to back gains.

Check the link below. I did try different ways before finally deciding to mod the oem box. Pipes didnt do it for me, but the key is the air box or air filter holder has to be increased for more air volume. Link below explains it better. This is just my observasion when i was looking to increase air flow on my car.

Rentech modifies the air boxes from like the c63, and they increase the height where the air filter sits. I would love to mod those boxes, much easier than our c43 boxes. But to get one of those guys to trust me will be hard.

Regarding a double pipe intake, I recall having seen this type installation, but I don't recall if it was on the MBWorld forum or another. I did save the photo for my files...

I finished fitting the air-box yesterday evening. Looks very nice Check out my thread https://mbworld.org/forums/c36-amg-c...on-2016-a.html
I just need to connect the battery before starting the engine. No driving till next week as I need to collect my plates which have been deposited during the winter months. Good no driving because the weather is cold again and snow is expected at low alitudes over the week-end. Snow = salt and T-Rex doesn't like that at all...

Just wanted to add. That we the owners of this awesome c43 amg are very fortunate. Why? Because our mercedes have some very nice room up on top to be able to add a custom air box that goes the highest from any other mercedes! Thats just from what ive have researched. Every other mercedes do not have the room to add my custom air box. Thats why even rentech's air box keeps it in the low low for our c43's. But our cars CAN go higher than that.

And as daniel mentioned and so have I, I can only imagine how the air box will perform with the engine upgrade that many of you have made. Am i trying to sell my air boxes? Yeah I am, but in no way am I not being honest. I just want to get my investment back, and these last 4 boxes i will make, will do that.

Fitted my airbox and got it on the dyno. The new box added 7kw/10HP and approx 10Nm across the bulk of the rpm range. I'm not convinced the dyno tells the whole picture regarding the gains. The on road power gains/response gains at higher speed (100kph/60mph) are definitely noticeable and would indicate it's more than a 10Nm gain which makes sense as the air box does get a small positive pressure as the vehicle speed increases (which a dyno wont show).

I did also do a run with no airbox which gave a further 20kw/27Hp gain but whilst this looks good on a dyno there would be no further power increase as vehicle speeds increase.

I wont be doing a track day for a while but I'll take the old air box when I do get back to the track to test the gains above 200kph too

Blue is stock airbox.

Green/Purple is 2 back to back runs on new airbox.

Red is no airbox.

All dynos done within 30mins. Both Kw and Hp printouts are the same runs, just rescaled.

It's great to see some solid numbers from this box. Thanks for putting in the time & posting up for us.
I agree that the dyno won't be able to exactly show 100% what is going on, but I definitely feel a difference throughout the entire range.

Here's a little shakedown run after my new Speed43 airbox. First run we did a run before my airbox & he pulled bus lengths; however he was running lean because of a bad MAF. Unfortunately we didn't have a vid of the first run. Btw, this is at 5500 elevation. Sorry for the vid quality..I obviously wasn't recording

Read this review on the Renntech air box to see how a modified air box as HP and torque.

https://mbworld.org/forums/clk55-amg...ed-review.html

My custom air box will look like factory but perform much better!

- You will be able to use your current air filters like normal. I do not modify the filter housing.

- Does not get as hot as stock.

- Better throttle response.

- Better gas mileage as it breathes easier.

- The sides and back part of the box are taller. The back part is important because it allows the engine to breathe much better, stock is so low.

- From the pictures I've seen in the web, my air box is taller than the Renntech air box.

- The inside will also get worked on. The plastic square baffles will be taken off and smoothed out for better air flow.

Price will be $450.00 shipped. I'm willing to ship outside the USA if you pay for shipping, maybe Extra $20.00. This price includes the complete air box.

Any questions feel free to ask.
Thanks
I want one ! I have a 98 c 43 .pm me!!!

Just wanted to let anyone else that's interested that I am still doing these air boxes.
I'm selling the 3 package deal for the most HP possible from these modifications.
Package includes the air box, the mass air flow sensor housing, and the elbow which goes to the throttle body.

All 3 items will be modded and shipped asap once I receive payment with paypal.
I include everything, so you wont be without your car...
Or you can send me your parts as well for a discounted price.

Price for all 3 items depends on how much I have to pay for them from ebay.
Price range from 490 to 545 plus shipping.

Have not dynoed the maf housing or elbow but throttle response is nice. I would say the package will produce 15HP.
If you have questions or like to order email me direct or PM. I'm 100% legit and have sold close to 20 air boxes so you have nothing to worry about.

Thanks for reading.
