1996 C36 AMG newbie
I will be using 10mm spacer up front and 15mm in back. 225/45/17 F&R. I had the resonator removed.
Already replaced the "EGR" return valve ( the one in front of wiper fluid bottle) turn signals are intermittent, sunroof doesn't close all the way ( the front doesn't seal downward) the passenger side power seat intermittent ( always goes fore and after and headrest adjusts the seat back will get stuck in a backward position) rear diff is leaking from seal not the sides.....
Oh yeah I know the history, ( 42 years old)
Always loved a good straight 6!!!
I had a 5 speed is300 with Toyomoto supercharger that was SWEET!!!
I am just trying to get her looking good for now!!!
When I was fitting the wheels I didn't see any spring bags front or rear???? These are on top of spring or bottom????
Being 20 year old car I am sure she has been "touched"
A lot...
i'm not expert on the c36, but parts can be had on the cheap. good luck with her and post up more pictures in the top thread when you are ready.

Wheels should be kinda easy to find, but that front bumper is another story.
For sunroof not sealing in front, if you are lucky it just needs a new weather liner. You open the roof and you can pop the old one out and stuff in a new one easily. If that doesn't fix it you have issues with various parts of the sunroof assembly itself.
Spent years chasing demons on my 94 C280 sunroof until I just found a parts car with a working sunroof and transplanted the entire thing into my car and that solved all my problems.

I already purchased the Alzor style 803 17x9 squared set up from ECS tuning. I know sacrilegious..... unstaggered... I am going ET20 front amd ET15 rear with H&R spacers. The sunroof will seal when I vent it, the front comes down and seal, but of course the rear vents. Good idea on just swapping. For now I am going to try and manual close it for the winter
And in regards to the front bumper I scored a local w202 unpainted bumper for $70, I was going to then just buy a bumper add on (ebay special) just to get a decent (lower) front end. $150 for both unpainted not bad...... budget build... any ideas or comments are welcome
The Alzor Style 803s did not clear my front brakes,
I added 10mm, 15mm then 20mm and still no go
they were 17x9 all 4, 17x8 and 17x9 have offset et30.
Kind of sucks, on the hunt again.
ECS tuning has been great through the whole process so thumbs up to those guys!!!
I have 20mm spacers on the way, the first set of 10mm"hubcentric" just didn't make it to wheel face on front.... the CO sent me another pair of 10mm "flat" hubcentric rings, for the front I will use flat and then hubcentric.
the rears for now will go from 45mm et to 24mm

I know I have stock springs, just not known pad #s or if they have been cut.
From my research I am either going with a #1 pad front and #3 in back with Vogtlands and Stag shock combo,or the less expensive coil over set from ECS.
