RON 93 MB Star

I have been playing with MB Star for a bit and I cannot seem to figure out how to switch the car over to 93. The closest thing I was was speed limiter and that was disabled (not sure if it is because these cars don't have one or already done).

Can anyone walk me through?

I figured it out and set it. Was in a section I didn't enter before - I think it was corrections under engine. I've been trying to tread lightly. I also got the alarm to chirp, I've got to play with the volume though. Couldn't find the speed limiter option again for the life of me (wish I took a picture).

Also playing with ROW/US option, trying to figure out the differences in the 202 model. Couldn't get the fan to turn on at a lower temp., will try again tomorrow if I have time. Noticed engine temp is slightly higher after the swap.

Was a bit confused if I had developer because everyone says developer only in German, but I think the 202 developer tools are all in English part of the HHT. Guessing that later models with more features are done in German? There is some kind of German warning at start up.

The menu you are referring to is to DE-RATE the car. It says right in the menu that it's for countries with poor fuel quality.
Those octane ratings are RON.
Your car is designed to run on 91 octane. (Which is 95 RON)
93 RON octane is the equivalent to 89 octane in our USA octane rating. And you will be effectively de tuning your car. Been there done it.

That actually makes a bit of sense. Do you know if the eu/row variants also only have those 4 selections? b/l, 87, 91, 93. I was thinking even if the menu isn't correct, why would I want to limit the car's fuel map, wouldn't b/l adapt to any fuel grade?

Its a bit too windy and snowy for me to brave changing it tonight and testing a bit.

Managed to change it back to base and I noticed that my idle increased a bit right off the bat. Still a bit of a rough idle though. Guessing its the plugs.

Stop guessing.

The temp variation has little or nothing to do with the swapped engine, the issue could be the water pump or thermostat from the swapping engine are not as good as the old ones, and the water pump should be checked if you suspect there is an issue.

Changing fan temp wont do a single thing other than make the fan run when it shouldnt be needed. If my 5.4 sits on 85°c all day long and rises to around 90°c when stopped or in slow traffic, yours should too.

It was 47°c ambient air temp out here in Australia a few weeks back, and no trouble at all.

The mechanical fan should be regulating temps quite well, if youre having issues, it is generally only going to be one of those 3 things.
