I completely forgot that they used oil. I was more concerned about sensor triggers and why I stayed clear of K&N. I had mine out the other day and I couldn't see any oil on them. That is how minimal the oil treatment is. So far so good and I'm quite happy with them. Does AFE offer different types of median replacement filters for the M113?

Yep, it looks like aFe offers two different media types for the M113-including an oiled option.

The Pro 5R is the oiled option & consists of 5 layers of cotton material.

And the Pro Dry S is oil free & consists of 3 layers of a synthetic material.
Both are washable and reusable.

AFE Pro Dry S for me. No problems with them thus far.

The AFE website is a little off with their info. as it only gives the oiled option for the C43 when you shop by vehicle and filter type.

Guess each to his own depending on climate conditions. I guess these filters are cheaper on the long run....
