Yeah I actually read this back in December before I bought mine. When guys I know aren't familiar with them I always send them this article by Jason Cammissa.
You guys might know he's the motortrend guy who does the "head 2 head" and "ignition" on youtube, which are great videos.

Remember, a 55-swapped C43 won Matt Farah's "2016's Best Daily Driver under $50k" award. It was fellow forum member Alex's car. It's just a stock 43 with a 55 motor.

The 43 was a heavily underappreciated car when it premiered. I'm considering getting yet another one so I can have 2 again!

Nice write-up. Anybody know when it was written? I've looked top and bottom but didn't find a date...

It means coming out of a hard turn and you get on the gas, but the open diff means the inside tire with the least amount of weight/grip is the one that gets the power so all it does is spin instead of speeding you up

so have any of you guys ever experienced this? as i said ive raced mine many times and never had that happen, on the same autocross courses where ive have other cars without an open diff that would do the one tire fire in many spots of the track... but ive never experienced it.

I dunno, differentials have always confused me, i know there is open, 1 way, 1.5 way, etc. but i dont think the C43 has the type of diff where you would get one tire fire. I think the author was experiencing what happens powering out of corners if you leave the ESP turned on.

It has a completely open differential like most all Mercedes. Nothing in the differential to give any limited slip action. Open.

Changing axle ratios won't work on a 43, the trans and traction control don't like it. Less electronics on the 36.

Camissa's article was a nice read. Btw, didn't you do the Kleeman camshafts in your car years ago?

Oh yeah, I'm Alex 😃

Car is doing well. Looking for some tasteful mods that won't break the bank.
