Dual Electric Fans?

Hey guys! Has anyone rebuilt the dual electric radiator cooling fans on the 43/55? I wanted to disassemble them and change the bearings but the plastic fan blade is somehow mounted to the motor housing and I'm afraid to break them. I purchased vdo replacement fans that are made in China and I'm planning to return them as the quality is not what I was expecting for just over $100 usd each. I really don't want to spend $182 usd for new genuine Mercedes fans as they don't have a sealed motor. Are there better options for replacement fans? Thx

Are you talking about radiator fans??

I have a spare set from my c43 parts car. They are in good shape.

I can ship them to you if you are interested.

Hi PJ. Yes, the radiator cooling fans are what I'm referring to. I purchased new vdo fans but I was interested in finding fans with a sealed motor as the motors are exposed on the factory fans. How much are you wanting for the pair? Thx

I assume you are talking of the two fans in front of the A/C condenser.
Why do you want to rebuilt the fans? Are they broken or what.

When I changed my condenser and dryer a couple of weeks ago, I just lubricated the bearings with a smudge of copper paste grease and reassembled the lot. The only difference I have noticed is they make less noise when they are working... Why change something when it still works.

I completely agree with you on that! I wanted to disassemble them to clean them up and re grease the bearings. The motor housings have a bit of rust on them and they're not spinning as freely as they should. I'm trying to remove the fan blades from the housing and can't figure out how it's attached. Thx

No idea, but probably pressed in. You would need a small puller but not sure. Perhaps others can chime in...
