Intermittent vibration above 50-60mph

First this issue was there before I did the following:

-shocks all around
-replaced control arms and bushings in the front
-new tires in the rear(fronts were new when installed prior to suspension upgrades but were driven on for some time)
-alignment done

I am starting to suspect that front tires are a problem because the car pulls to one side. When I swap the tires from left to right, the car pulls to the other side. However the vibration is not constant. A bad tire normally causes constant vibration.

The vibration fades in, progresses to a more noticeable vibration then fades out. This all lasts maybe two three seconds then there is a period of another few seconds of no vibration at all but then it comes back. It keeps going like this as long as Im at higher speeds

i had a ball joint causing vibration and uneven tire wear, like serious outer edge wear which in turn caused pulling.

vibration and uneven tire wear fixed after i replaced both ball joints. afterwards i had front spacers causing additional vibration. i also changed the steering damper which i dont think did a thing, my old one was pretty tight still.

i still have just the slightest vibration, could be aftermarket wheels, or something in the driveshaft.

Is your vibration constant?

Lets say the dots below represent vibration as you drive.

Constant would be:

........................................

The vibration I am getting:

.... ..... ..... ..... .....

But the empty gaps between are a good few seconds long. The wheel at that speed could make a full circle at least a few times as its hitting the ground so if it was the tire or the wheel it would vibrate faster. Kinda hard to explain

my very slight vibration comes and goes. suspect it has something to do with the contour of the road. i feel your pain on this. i believe the only way to solve is to replace 1 part at a time. i might do shocks next but i have to decide what im doing with my ride height if anything.

Have you replaced your bearings?

I few years back I had a vibration between 60-65mph that would not go away. New tires, different wheels, new ball joints, steering shock, and road force balancing. Nothing got rid of the vibration. Effectively lived with it for the next two years and then while investigating in a knocking noise I discovered a few spot welds at the lower rear control arm mount had broken. Once the welds were repaired all my vibration problems immediately went away.

In my case the weld failures were on the car unibody, not the control arms themselves. I still have my original control arms to this day. Sorry I didn't make that clear.
