Differential whine/noise or road/tire noise?
Hey everyone,
Car runs good, etc but I have some road noise that I am not sure if it's my tires are a diff?
It's not too bad and it's still there if I let off the gas which leads me to believe it could be the tires.
Are diff problems common in these? After searching the forum not alot comes up so I'm assuming they aren't common.
Any help or advice would be appreciated.
Be like this for 5 months of driving since I've had the car so if it was something mechanical I would assume it would get worse.

We seem to forget that the differential oil needs to be changed from time to time. I would change it every time you flush and change ATF in the transmission. The hypo oil does get hot and despite its thickness it does break down with increasing wear. If you have an LSD and drive hard, all the reason to change more often.
Just my 2 cents...

Thanks for the reply. I don't think I have a LSD...How can I tell? Stupid question so hopefully nobody jumps all over me.
Do you think if the diff fluid is changed it will eliminate some noise?

None came from the Factory with LSD. It can be added later if you really need it.
Don't know if changing oil will lower the noise in your case, but I'm sure it will help and your diff will appreciate
