My latest C43 video & some questions

Hey everyone,

Sorry I'm late to post this here but this is my latest $200 C43 video where I perform an inspection on the car and show you the good, bad and totally hacked.

In the video I decide this car is not worth a restoration but instead will live out its life on a race track starting off in the 24 hour endurance Lemons race.

That means a full cage is going in and the complete interior will be sold off to pay for some of the modifications.

Aside from the carpet the interior is in pretty decent shape. The driver seat has wear and a tear in the middle bottom pad but the other seats are really nice, door panels although some trim is missing are decent. Dash is nice, etc

Would there be anyone interest in any of this here? I may end up listing it all on Ebay when I get closer to stripping it all out buy wanted to post here first.

Also if there are other parts you may need that are not vital to a car being raced on a road course let me know. Climate control, air conditioning, etc

You can see more of the interior in the first video.

Thanks for watching and all your help

Alex

I'd be interested in the climate control unit if the screen is 100% good and the HVAC functionality is working as well (my current unit works well, just has a bad screen)

I recommend you send it in for repair rather than doing a half a$$ job trying to fix it.
These screens goes real bad and stealership still charge top dollars for this plastic unit for an 18 year ole car.

I'm aware of the "fixes" but I'd rather just replace the unit with a good one.

Never said I was going to fix it; I want to replace it with a different, not broken unit.

u think replacing your broken unit with another 2nd hand unit would be better?
they all must suck by now from road vibrations, flat ribbon comin' loose from LCD display!

repair/re-soldering flat ribbon connecting LCD display would be the cheapest way to fix a fawlty head unit.

getting a used one you don't know how long it will last until you get a fading display again.
on FleaBay people still charge top dollar for this sucky unit!

if u got the dough, buy a new one then you're covered for many years ahead!

most sellers test these unit while car is standing still not in motion.
fading digits mostly occur when vehicle is in motion from vibrations.

those who sells used units test HU when they break the car for parts, they only turn the ignition position ON and see the display is ok or not?
they don't always know if HU is 100% sound?

some units have black (ink looking) stains shown in the display, then it's really pooped

mine was showing fading digits, now it's fixed workie, workie like brand neu!
