C36 Head gasket
Head gasket is leaking near the back of the block and was spotted by MB at it's service today. Needs a new front seal as well. a couple of questions please as i've tried the search facility and found nothing.
1. How long does this roughly take to complete?
2. While the heads off and gets skimmed would it benefit getting gas flowed, along with the inlet manifold - had this done on my 16v corrado and made a noticeable difference. Would iw be noticeable on a C36 and has anyone had this work done before?

Headgasket is a labor INTENSIVE job. Mechanics at dealers and independent shops take about 11 hours to complete, if you want to do it yourself, may take 11 hours or longer most likely.
The part itself is only about $200 and the rest is labor, totalling out to about $1000-$1200 depending on what your mechanic/dealer charges for labor rates.

C36 Head Gasket
My 1996 C36, I just changed my U-Seal gasket and I decided to change the head gasket and the MB dealer charged me almost 9 hours. I also asked them to change the waterpump, tensioner, all the little hoses near the firewall,a nd anything else they recommended.
