Mercedes Benz C230 Kompressor 1999
Kleeman Supercharger

Roughly, how much does one cost?

And, lets say you had a c43 AMG, and its 0-60 was 6 seconds, if you put the KLEEMAN supercharger on that, approxmiately what would the 0-60 be?

And, i have a C230 Kompressor (kompressor = supercharger), what is the difference between that and a Kleeman supercharger, if i put a kleeman on would i know the difference?

a car that can't do the throttle reset.
0-60 isnt gonna be too big of a difference with just the blower. you cant compare two, cause ones a 4 and the others an AMG 8.

I suggest you read and do some research about force induction in general particularly Supercharging..

You C230K already has Supercharger unit in which force feed the airintake into the engine to achieve much higher and more aggressive engine combustion === more power..

The kleeman and your OEM supercharger unit are basically different and the same..

What I mean is the supercharger in the general they're all work with the same principal, except many of the have different type and configuration...

The Kleeman unit and the C230K unit is different type, and is designed for entirely different engine..

Kleeman makes the unit available for the V-6 engine and the V-8 engine, which obviously has bigger capacity than the C230K unit..

I could go on and on explaining this, but it is best you do some research first so that you could as the right question..

And depending which supercharger type you pick (which type, power band, etc..etc) you should be able to shave about 1 sec for 0-60 time of a C43.

They are $11k right now on many sites (sale price or maybe just lowered) and about 1,500 to 2,000 for install.

We've seen as much as a 2 full second reduction in 0-60 times. Your C43 will easily reduce 0-60 by at least 1.5 seconds, if not 2. Of course, with 430 HP on tap, traction is the largest concern. Add an LSD conversion and your looking at a 2.3-2.5 reduction in 0-60. KLEEMANN doesn't make a replacement SC for the C230, so there would be nothing to compare it to.

There are many differances between the eaton SC on your C230 and the KLEEMANN unit for the V8: both are positive displacement which means for each revolution of the SC, it will displace a fixed amount of air. The eaton is a roots-type. The eaton is basically a large air pump which moves more air into the engine- not a true compressor. The eaton also has a higher parasitic draw on the engine at full load as compared to an equally sized Lysholm type. The KLEEMANN unit is a Lysholm type. The Lysholm type is a true compressor, in the sense that it compresses the air within the SC before it is forced into the engine. Lysholm type superchargers are more efficient at high engine speeds, and have a much greater thermal efficiency rating than a roots-type. If your looking for a good book about superchargers, check out Corky Bell's book called Supercharged! You'll find everything you wanted to know about supercharging an engine. Keep in mind it's written by an engineer, so it gets quite technical.

Renntech has a couple of pulleys and kits. Lorinser has a turbo set up. Brabus has a s/c and engine upgrade. Everything cost too much money IHMO. Just by another car if your looking for speed. IIRC the Lorinser turbo kit cost about 10K installed, only puts the I-4 to about 260-65hp and 300 ft lbs tq. I use the MB as my daily driver. I wasnt satisfied with the speed. Even if you MOD the hell out of the 4 banger, you can only do so much. There is a company that will drop in the n/a 5.4L AMG V8 and tranny, for about the same price. I just bought a 3.2L S54 BMW M Roadster, I drive that when I want to go fast.

Do Brabus or Lorinser make many engine upgrades for the C43? I too will be interested in the Kleemann charger someday!!

what was the company that did the swap, I have the inline 6 c280, and i don't think there was any sc for it, might have been a turbo, but I just don't get the kick i really want, if there was a way to drop the 211 e55 amg engine in, that would be a beast, I really like the oldschool body types of the c280's, and I'm not sure but i thought the 202 c43amg was the same size as my c280, so could a swap of anykind happen? mostly if the 211 e55amg could be brought in
