opinion on c43 purchase
hello all,
I am in the market for a ~$20K car and found a white over charcoal/blue '98 c43 with 56K miles. It has literally every option and is fairly clean. I am concerned with buying a car with high miles, does anyone have experience with either mercedes or 3rd party warranties (can one be purchased, from who, terms, etc.).
Also, how does the price sound? The asking price is $21K and I offered the guy $19, it looks like he'll take it. thanks guys.
also considering 2003 jaguar x-type. opinions/experience with that car and how it compared with the high mileage c43 would also be appreciated too. Thanks!

a car that can't do the throttle reset.
in terms of 3rd party warranties...be VERY CAREFUL. alot of them take your money and end up going bankrupt leaving you out of cash and out of warranty.
19k sounds fair, i think you could a little better.
x type is a ford. jaguar is manufactured under ford. i personally would go AMG over jag anyday of the week... but im a little partial.
and thats coming form someone who gets a huge discount on jags.

Is it the original owner, did he have MB do oil changes with Mobil 1, stuff like that could make big difference to me. 56 is not alot for car thats gonna be 7 years old in 6 months. Bought mine with 35000 it now has almost 60000 no problems yet ,knock on wood-MOE

if u want warranty, try mb's starmarked...
as for the jaguar x-type...it's based on the european ford mondeo...not the greatest... i wouldn't get it if i were u...

anything b4 that is like break in period on other cars
i've drove MBs with over a million miles on them that ran like 60k on them
