I will take a picture tomorrow, I now use 2 different types of paint. After primer I use a high heat resistant paint, followed quickly by a different shade of black to better match the front cover.

I'm also using oem plastic to weld it together for a much stronger air box than before. I will post tomorrow.

12' W204 C63 AMG coupe "T-Rex", 12' W451 Smart Fortwo Pulse (99' W202 C43 AMG sold)

The difference between the OE and enlarged box is clear. In this case one photo is worth a hundred words

It's a snug but perfect fit. Looks totally OE but it certainly goes soooooo much better

Sorry the front part is missing as it's in a never ending work in progress paint upgrade

I had some photos handy so here goes. There may be some small differences with today's version as I believe I had one of George's very early versions

Daniel thank you for the pictures!
I have to share the car with my wife so sometimes hard to get in there to do anything.

Kowalski, yes I have tried other plastic materials as well as plastic fillers for the cosmetics (hide the welds). I will be sticking with what I have now, works great.

Since I started like 3 years ago I had 3 boxes that cracked outside the top edge. Just cosmestics didn't efect anything else. Simple sand and little filler or jb weld needed.

The boxes are welded inside and out. And now I give them a pressure test, if they crack where the welds are I redo it as many times as it takes. I also fit test everyone one in my car so customer will not have a hard time. I've not had any complaints on fitment but I now do other procedures to make them fit better.

The boxes go through alot of heat with welding so not so easy to get them to fit right. That's why I tell people who email me about a how to do this. That I don't suggest they try, but if they want to that's ok. But I just wont go through all the how I do it steps...

Cold or hot weather no big deal. Plastic is tough.... Why so many questions??

I guess with the climate warming, in a couple of years George will no longer be doing cold weather testing, but more flood water resistance tests

I actually do a light test from the inside of the box looking for small pins of lights. If I see any I run the welder tip through the pin hole and than weld it.

These C43 boxes are much harder to mod than the C55 boxes. Those are just pretty expensive to buy. But the labor is easier than the c43 boxes. But the c55 box does take a lot of detail to get it right. So both boxes tend to be equal in labor.

I pm'd the guy that wanted pictures of how the box looks installed. He has a Mercedes c450 so way different box. Guess he posted in the forum....

Have one left if anyone is interested in buying.
One guy is interested but needs more time to save up the funds. I offered to sell to him for 480. I will sell at the same price to anyone else. First come first serve...

It's now been sold. Will have another soon.
I will post once I have one all done. I'm currently working on one and it's 80% finished.

Thanks.
