'97 c36 & '00 c280 Alternator
I have a '97 c36 with a bad alternator (only putting out 10.4 volts) that needs replacing. I have access to a '00 c280 which I can pull the alternator from. My question is, does anyone have any knowledge/information on if the alternators in both cars are the same part number? Would the 2000 c280 alternator be compatible with a 97 c36? Any insight is much appreciated.

Need more info. Any possibility you can post the part # of the existing alternator?
The MB parts information system shows several different alternators and a cross examination with a C280 didn't come up with a common part #.
