not quite true cause they're up there. Keep in mind as these cars age lesser and lesser will be around.

I rather have a 1999 c43 then a newer c43 but lf Mercedes would come out with a retro Benz c43 same W202 body with all the
technology of a new Benz seats digital dash entertainment sound system damn ! that would be great
what would someone pay for that ?

If that's your white car with the hacked up quarter panels AND you turned down 26k, you are a fool! A car with that kind of damage I'd say 3-5k tops.
Even if the car is truly pristine you should have took 26k.
Unless you have some Uber rare unicorn w202 that's also ultra low miles and truly mint. I don't even know what rarity that would be in the USA market because they didn't offer much for options or variance. Only w202 I can think would be one of the real c55 w202, maybe a mint low miles w202 wagon AMG. But not just some clean 99 USA car. And if those are your quarter panels it's not clean or original or good.

I still have it and drive it in decent weather. It's on Craigslist right now. Tough to sell though I just get alot of e tire kickers who waste alot of your time. I don't deal with out of state area codes any more just don't have the time or ambition.
Sorry for coming in a little hot. Haha

I watched Romeo Must Die about 10 times when it first came out because I was driving a 96 C63, and I'm almost certain that the rear badge was never displayed in the movie, and I consequently came to the conclusion that it was a non-AMG C Class (which bugged the **** out of me)...

‘10 G55, ‘05 E55 Wagon, ‘99 C43, ‘92 500E. Lo mi.
SOLD - VALUES
To add some closure and clarity, the C43 sold for $22k. I lowered it to $21,500 to pay for a terrific guy’s trip picking up the vehicle. So recap: ‘99 C43 blk/blk 47k miles +- super clean $22k. My guess would be that it is worth more as I was looking for the right guy and we met just after a week of listing. My original guesstimate of $26k is somewhat accurate but closer to $25k is my confirmed feeling about this trade. Best regards & thx for all the comments.

Good day gentlemen, I am new to this forum and have only a weekend in posession of my recently acquired W202 1998 C43. I know next to nothing about these cars as I come from the Porsche aircooled community, but needed a 4 door car and while on my way to a W124 E500E decided to act on an article/listing on the link below:

Could not be happier, car is Mint. Seller and buying experience was great. I went through the car end to end on PPI at a great place in Monterey, CA, but I have now decided I prefer the stock look so looking for the right wheel size advise 17" or 18" AMG Monoblocks? and getting rid of the aftermarket tail. She currently sits on 18"s. Also for some cosmetic clean up need a new set of tail lights and also have a question on the front grille which I notice is different than on most other C36/43/55 of the era that I see online. I may post the Carlsson's for sale here as well after I find the right wheels for her. Car is Mint and my goal is to enjoy it for years to come and then pass it along to the next enthusiast at the right time. She has to share seat time with a stable so I don't expect the mileage to go up too much.
Happy to be a part of this and look forward to the experience. Than you all in advance for your advise.
JB.

The right size is 17" - staggered w/ wider tires in the back. W208 CLK55s share the same rims. If you go w/ 18" rims the offsets can get wonky and may need spacers. You'll also have to consider the roads where you drive. I live in Chicago w/ horrendous roads, bad weather, and hence would never consider a lowered car nor 18" rims. My feelings would be different in a different part of the country. (My 95 993 is running stock suspension and 17" rims also.)

FCP Euro and ECS Tuning. Probably 95% of what you could need. FCP is the 1st stop b/c of the lifetime warranty. I just did a 55 swap and WaveTrac rear end. Replaced damn near everything that could be replaced or considered a wear item during both projects. Only had to go to MB for a couple items.

Welcome to the fold.
Regarding your comments for certain parts mounted on your 43, I agree the wheels need to go and if you want to remain as stock as possible, I strongly recommend the 17" Monos. The 18" are nice for overall aesthetics, but with a lowered suspension which you have, on bad road surfaces you do get the pogo stick effect. I have both sizes but I'm starting at age 70 to feel the 17" are so much better for comfort and lighter too. The front grille is an Avantgarde one. Most found are aftermarket items, even if AMG did have them on an option basis. The same is true for the rear lip. If they are genuine AMG or MB items, I would also defo keep them
BTW, the official 17" Monos for a W202 have the following offsets:
Front will be 7.5J and ET 35 with 225/45 R 17 tyres
Rear will be 8.5J and ET 30 with 245/40 R 17 tyres
If you decide for the harsher ride with 18" Monos you need the following offsets:
Front 8J and ET 31 with 225/40 ZR 18"
Rear 9J and ET 35 with 255/35 ZR 18"

Thanks for the note. I am in Miami, FL and roads are not exactly that great although highway is OK for the most part. I prefer the lowered suspension but do need to get rid of the spacers on this car. My first drive on the road car felt like a pogo stick. Rear spacers have wheels in the air they don't grab the hub. I'll change the wheels before I drive her again just need to find the right ones. my '97 993 C2S rides on Bilsteins PSS9s and is 3mm less than euro height on ride height. I love it! For the Merc will be different as my intention is to take it on open road family trips etc. Need to get this resolved asap. Thanks.Any source for OEM parts online would be much appreciated.
Thank you,
Thank you,
H&R Sports or MB euro-spec springs with Bilstein sports would get you to the same ride height/feel as your 993.

Glad to see new members here and weve had a few lately which I think is more than usual.
Welcome and congrats on your new c43 youll enjoy it.
Definetly post an i troductory thread and share more pics not only of the w202 but also the p cars
Those carlsons are great rims but I dont think they suit a w202 body as nicely as a staggered set of monoblock 2s
